Thank you for your assistance. Incidentally, I tried the plugable usb
3.0 cardreader on a windows os today and the device's driver was being
"blocked" -- and did not work -- similarly to my personal computer --
the windows os had symantec security software that blocked the autorun
info, etc.

- The 3.13{Trusty) kernel on a Vivid install and still exhibits the bug.
- The kexec-tools_2.0.6-0ubuntu2.1_i386(Which ships with Trusty) was installed
on an Vivid install and seems to resolve the bug, but we then hit bug 1440103
