Sorry I didn't post here again because I coudn't find older kernels where this
didn't happen. I poked a bit in acpi and tried with acpi-call and found out
that it is really the ec that gets confused and stops to report values. The ec
could be reinitialized by adding or removing the kernel module
I have found actually all drivers are included in mainline kernels. Then I
tested mainline kernels to find out last kernel without bug.
Last kernel from mainline without bug is 3.11.10
Kernels I have tested that have bug :

This is Arvind Kumar from VMware. Recently the issue discussed in this
bug was brought into VMware's notice. We looked at the patch
(https://lkml.org/lkml/2014/9/23/509) which was done to address the
issue. Since the patch is done in mptsas driver, it addresses the issue
only on lsilogic

I think that there are small chances that this would help, though
because the same problem is reproducible on two other computers as well.

When plugging the Logitech C920 web cam on 3.8.13.23 armhf kernel, it is
intialized. However, no device is created at /dev/video* .

scrolling and others) compiling the psmouse-elantech source with dkms from here:

and modprobing it as proto=bare

Sadly the signal is still very bad when moving further away from the
router. My Android phone shows 4 out of 5 bars while the laptop only has
1 out of 5 on Ubuntu. I will compare this to Windows and report back
later.

The signal has improved with the new driver. Network manager now reports
58 to 63 Mb/s under "connection info". This is about the same as my
Android phone reports.
Please backport this driver to Ubuntu 14.04!
