Some kernels are a lot more reliable and some USB3 devices are just
unreliable.
You need to confirm that that device works fine under windows.
I have recently had the strange situation of a HDD caddy which keeps
disconnecting under windows but no issues under linux. (different computers)

This bug affects me. While the only problem I can directly trace to it
is the delay in suspend, the system logs show a kernel oops, which may
well indicate more serious underlying problems. (About ⅓ of the time
when resuming, the system does not restart properly, e.g. the screen
does not come back)
I've looked into this more and have determined that it is an old bug and
was not introduced by apparmor 3 RC1. There may be new leaks in apparmor
3 RC1 but there is a basic, fundamental leak on profile reloading
present in the kernel released just before apparmor 3 RC1 landed.

System76 has been doing extensive testing internally on Utopic since the

It may be rather verbose, but hopefully it will show us where the bad
data originates. Please reproduce the issue with this kernel and send me

umm just forgot to mention.. When it turned into zombie (almost
dead) after attempt to hibernate I had to poweroff it manually with the
button. After powering it on again fresh OS used to boot instead of the
hibernated image (although uswsusp claimed image is saved at 100%). So I
