I had no problems with suspend/resume prior to Trusty.
Also, I *think* it worked around 14.04 was released (I've been running
Trusty beta since approximately March/April); however, I've just tried
an older linux-image-3.13.0-24-generic_3.13.0-24.47_amd64.deb (from May
5th) but that didn't help, so

mpt2sas loads in 3.3.7 precise and 3.3.8 quantal kernels.
It does not load in 3.4.1 quantal, nor any thereafter I happened to check.

Gave up waiting for root device
I just installed an old box with Asus CUSL2-C (i815) and Lubuntu 14.04
(trusty). Occasionally get the busybootblows, but not always. Just
randomly, 2 times out of 3 maybe.
Turning "plug and play OS" in BIOS on or off makes no difference
Adding "noapic" after quiet splash in /etc/default/grub makes
After further testing, I still had the same bug under my original 12.04
PP kernel. I then discovered everything worked fine when I close the
laptop without being logged in. That meant a userland program was
responsible likely involved. I removed a program (I believed installed
be default) called

In the additional driver tab of my system parametrers, the usual nvidia
proprietary driver which wera appearing in the 32 bits version d
