If it is not a UEFI based installation, try a BIOS reset (to factory
defaults). Or, if it is dual-booting with Windows 8, try a hot-reboot
while the wifi is active.

We should try some of the 3.13 release candidates since 3.12 final does
not have the bug.

The build from 19th Aug is the first one we've picked up for testing, so I
cannot confirm if the initial builds have this or not, though this issue was
not seen before on Ubuntu.

Jiri Kosina's patch that more or less fixes this (at least for now and on my
system...) is already in 3.17-rc1. So you could either patch your current
version or upgrade.

I suggest to keep the bug still open for quite some time.
We all know (and my stress-testing underlines that) that this is a duct-tape
and not a real fix.
