I think we can manage BC. The only thing that would be hard are the DBus
interfaces. But since nepomuk-core contains client libs which are
supposed to be used instead of the dbus interfaces...

Why not use the KMessageWidget (or whatever it is called) created by
Aurelien Gateau which can be displayed above the status bar or above the
main view and show the user that the file was modified on disk without
annoying them with a dialog.
