I'm not involved in GSOC but as a dev of the Krusader file manager I can say
that we would
benefit greatly from these suggestions. We recently had a discussion about root
file
operations and how bad running the whole application as root is.

Looks like a very strong proposal.
Can you break the timeline down where you have "fix applications" into much
more specific apps with timescale. Possibly even breaking down the
different bits of apps.
It doesn't matter if we deviate from it when GSOC starts, but it'll show
that you have a realist

this proposal makes me happy, not only because I have a 4K Screen, but
also because Lukas was a Student in a course at University about
Software Engineering in C++/Qt of which I was part of the teaching team.
And we need more people in Austria involved into KDE :)
