Any thoughts on this? I know there was a reason we didn't install the
Engine header, but is there a way we can provide api to uninstall or install
items programatically?

Again, kdepim was *not* released with 4.5.x at all.
If some distro is shipping kdepim with a version number of 4.5, it should have
been marked as *unstable*.
