Ah, it seems that colour profiles are system-wide, the same as fonts are.
Apparently, AnimePalette is one that comes with PhotoShop.

Huh, I get it all the time with the 4.2.9 appimage and the recent master build
in docker, no matter what I try.

I can reproduce this with various recent nightly builds. There's probably other
combinations of selecting/layer actions leading to this, but the steps above
work every time for me.
