It never occurred to me to check the memory limit on installing Krita

definitely HAS made a difference saving to SSD drive. I had repeated crashes
within an hour on old drive, losing all work

Actually, I don’t think it is my hard drives, because same thing happened when
saving to my SSD main C: Save as “new name”, it seems to save, then bombs out

Just checked the Krita AppData.. there is no crash log.. Krita exits the
current save and loads the previous save, but I’m unsure if it is technically a
“crash”, or just a Runtime Error. AppData/Local/Krita/cache
