1) Yes, unfortunately cannot be resized from the applet itself, only you can
manually resize it.

This is most probably issue in BlueZ. You can confirm it by removing your audio

So you must unblock Bluetooth. It should be possible from Bluetooth applet in

I know about start-pulseaudio-kde which loads module-device-manager that
