I see. I tried everything in the settings to force the use of the right
executable path (I have multiple launch targets, changed them from project
target to executable, changed working directories, etc...) but

When trying with a basic template CMake project, I am greeted with a crash. The

Ah, well I'll uninstall the plugin then, I tried it because I needed openocd
support (which it doesn't provide).

Yup, this clearly was due to the plugin.
Yes I was ashing on IRC, but don't worry, I gave it a quick try then
uninstalled when seeing it's unmaintained :)
