As an alternative, we currently have a nightly digiKam build. This is compiled
with the MSVC Microsoft compiler and is even signed. It's not complete yet
though, so it doesn't currently have HEIF support. However,

If QtWebkit is not suitable anymore to display GoogleMaps, it will be safe to
remove GoogleMaps option everywhere with webkit backend.

I see that plasmashell still uses the software renderer, so the switch to
OpenGL did not work.

Interesting. I didn't have KMix installed, and installing / enabling it, having
it running (or not) didn't change anything for me - indicator still had its
incorrect behavior.

Hello,
I ran some extra tests today and Plasma crashes if my high refresh rate monitor
is connected.
When only my two standard 60hz monitors are connected. Plasma does not crash.
