There was no change in how notifications are handled. It is 100% a font
handling issue, I've seen it multiple times and not only in notifications.
Not sure whether this is something wrong in Qt or with the font lib

After a reboot it works fine, yes.
Though I doubt its a fontconfig/freetype/harfbuzz issue as the rest of the
system looks fine.
