Can confirm this bug/wish - if you want to see 'PIM Events Plugin' - you can
install 'kdepim-addons' package and enable it in 'Calendar' settings.

There is no separate package, but plasma-workspace and plasma-framework must be
compiled against the libKF5CalendarEvents dependency. Then events can be
enabled as a "Calendar Plugin" in Digital Clock Setting.
