The behavior has changed when only a .pot file is present or a file is
overwritten when lokalize is active on that files, belongs to the open project.
Packet is lokalize-17.04.2-1.1, version is 2.0.

There is still a problem in lokalize 16.12.3. The problem arises when a .pot
file is present without a .po. After working on that file and saving it (as
