I'm also not able to replicate it anymore. Not sure if it's entirely resolved,
but I haven't encountered it anymore since I reported it. Might've been related
to nvidia / mesa graphics.

This is still a problem on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed using the latest NVIDIA drivers

I have noticed that over time Plasma rendering gets more sluggish (overall low
framerate, things like menu item highlight changes etc. behave sluggishly) and
that seems to be when I really start getting the black windows

This appears to be fixed for me since the Mesa updates on Neon on 2023-05-24,
