It's doesn't work for me. :(
My Debian system is a minimal instalation. I have not tipical desktop Gnome,
kde, xfce, mate, cimmanon, etc...
Finally I have added the next line in my
"/home/witopea/.config/openbox/environment"

But its not set for KDE applications.
You should have a file "~./config/kdeglobals" with

in it. This is changeable with KDE system settings.

And which icon theme are you using. Please try installing Breeze.
