One last remark. As much as I know in KDE applications the menu display can be
toggled with CTRL-M. At least this works with amarok (still KDE4), dolphin,

They are back.
I had to edit
~/.config/kontactrc
by hand and deleted in various sections the entry
MenuBar=Disabled
There was no way to enable the menu bars directly through the GUI. Thus I would
