Yes, there are various web browsers that support JPG-XL:
- Gnome Web (Epiphany) since version 46.0 or 46.1
- NetSurf (only in Archlinux, not in Debian/Ubuntu)
- Midori

What I meant is that if you open a JPEG-XL image on your hard disk, it will be
correctly displayed in a Konqueror tab (using functionality provided by
Gwenview). Your example is a web page and wont work until QtWeb

I have created a bug report under https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTWB-76 .
I can open jxl files with Gwenview, but they are not displayed with Konqueror
or Falkon, e.g. here:
