That, or it's the KDE integration, which isn't on my Debian system, but is

Note that it worked at some point in Maui, and it also just works on my Debian
unstable system (both Firefox 50).

This is a common problem of browsers. They explicitly clear the
clipboard before closing. Why? Don't ask me.
Overall I don't think there is much we can do about it. I hope that the
option "Prevent empty clipboar
