Thumbnails and SMB don't work together very well indeed. I found another issue

I use samba 4.17.4 on client side and 4.13.13-Debian on server side.
Yes, smbstatus says there are locked files that I am trying to delete.

In case your server is samba you can run smbstatus on the server side to check
out the locked files, are the failing file
