Thank you for reporting. This post is from 2011 for an outdated Kdenlive
version 0.8.
Fortunately, this function still exists with the latest Kdenlive version
24.12.2: Menu -> View -> Screen Grab. Documentation is here:

Please use our official Flapak or Appimage from the download page:
https://kdenlive.org/en/download/
