Doing drop shdows as an effect would have to be done at the MLT or frei0r
level, so with different upstream projects. Such an effect would need several

By the way, the way you did it using two tracks for each clip+shadow is the

Ah, now I see, you want a drop shadow around your frame in a way similar to
what Gimp does? There's help doing this using the built-in effect and
transitions in Kdenlive.

I didn't find in kdenlive's effects.
On gimp, i go on "filters --> shadow and light --> drop shadow"
(or something like that, i use it in french :/
