Gwenview used to use ~/.config/org.kde.gwenviewrc, but now it uses
~/.config/gwenviewrc (maybe a Gwenview, KDE or Ubuntu change).

I experimented with this. Finally I was able to localize the problem.
In my case, the problem was not gwenviewrc but ~/.config/org.kde.gwenviewrc.

Thanks Holger for reporting your experience.
I see that alt-F3 is a specific KDE shortcut that shall open a window behaviour
menu. In Mate there seems no such menu.
