If this change to kglobalaccel broke users, it needs to be revisited, not
worked around in downstream software (ideally; I understand that when something
abruptly breaks, it can be quite traumatic).

What desktop are you using? If it's not Plasma then this is intentional since
kglobalaccel interferes with other shortcut daemons
