This is by design. If the statusbar would change size, then it would make it
more difficult to click the cancel search button since it can jump around when
user is hovering over items before going for the statusba

Hmm, that makes sense, even if it's not the greatest look.
Maybe with the on-demand statusbar, this loading UI should move onto the
background of the page itself. That's typically how we do this in QtQuick apps
