So-called attached network collections actually have no "update" function. Do
you use digiKam on different computers? Please take a screenshot of your
collection settings.

I run the digiKam 8.5.0 AppImage on my computer and icons are there :

It's a problem with the icon-set used to populate button. This is strange
because all is included in the AppImage bundle.

For some reason, I do not have those options for the collection. I do not have
the append or update options. Only the delete option is available in the
collection settings.

You have to use the "update" function in the digiKam collection settings for
the relevant collection (tool button with a round circle) to update it. The
UUID file for the network collection has probably not yet been
