It took me a while to figure out that you also have to start the DebugView. In
the manual there is little information about the switch under 'System'.
But the log helped me a lot and put me on a different path. The database

Instead of setting the variables, you can now also activate internal debugging
in the digiKam settings under Miscellaneous -> System, then restart digiKam.

I wanted to do it again in a VM. I downloaded the DebugViewTool. But I still
