Just one example, that project "Kate" has already also withdrawn from Flatpak.
For the problematic with Hugin see Bug 453817, I hope Debian has fuse packages
too.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately libfuse2 is no longer in Ubuntu 22.04 so
no Appimages currently run..
The snap for digikam in the store appears to be "official" and supported by
KDE.
