Take the example of Android updates:
A list of applications that can be updates. Each one has an "Update" button,
and on top of all is an "Update All" button. Of counse if I go to the page of
any of the apps

I think as long as the main list UI allows checking and unchecking packages,
that's probably what users are going to assume is

The idea in this case was to just open one application page to trigger the
update. At the moment we are only showing a Remove button then. I think that
fixing that would be better than fiddling with the checkboxes.
