Just found out that Kubuntu was installed with display scaled to 105% and
reducing to 100% solved the problem. I still think it is a bug though,
installing and setting the default to 105% scaling.

Hi,
my apologies, I think that the fault is in Google photos (GP). I was sure that
GP sorted images by creation date, but it seems like they read modified date
instead. It is really annoying.

I could not find many examples on internet, but I found a screenshot on this
