Confirming that this still persists also on openSUSE Tumbleweed:
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.17.7-1-default

I can also confirm this for openSUSE Tumbleweed with the original knewstuff
5.90.0 where the upstream fix (toLower()) is applied and no other distro
specific patches are applied.
Both OBS and vokoscreenng are installed

Turns out the reason for all this is baloo.
I have a lot of pics with tags etc that baloo is indexing.
The moment baloo is turned off and its database is cleared, krusader starts to
work normally and barely consumes

Sorry but this still happens for me on KF5 5.78 and Plasma 5.20.5 and Apps
20.12.1
It is hard for me to debug because it needs some time Krusader to run (like
some 4-6 ours of use) and use it.
What's interesting

The same issue still persists.
Actually I have never been able to use pam-kwallet properly.
The system is still Gentoo, though some of the versions are a lot more recent:
lightdm 1.30.0
kwallet-pam - 5.17.2
pam - 1.3.1

A use case like mine for example - where I have a lot of PDF and ODT files in
the encrypted folder - and I can differentiate between them thanks to the

Hi @Ivan Čukić,
This patch seems a rather drastic approach to the problem
Yes it is the easiest way to address the problem, but not a user friendly one
and cripples KDE functionality...It makes totally impossible to

Can I propose one more idea:
Make the Vault applet like the Network Manager applet - clean of any buttons on
bottom, with a configure icon at the top right side at the level of the
applet's name + enlisted Vaults
