Tested both builds. the problem still persists. The performance improvements do
not seem to make any difference in this issue, at least for me.

I thought it would be relevant to post this information here. Seems like
checking "Temporarily save tweeks to presets" in the brush editor fixes the
problem in 5.0.2.
