Also, I surprisingly discovered, that drop-down list IS ALREADY implemented. I
have a setup of two monitors and when I clicked on one of them in Kscreen, a

I do not stick out for drop down, but answering your question. Drop-down
explicitly shows you which resolution is choosen.
You still cannot change resolution with just one click if slider is used. You

As temporal workaround I use custom shortcut which executes the following
comand:
kcmshell5 kcm_kscreen
It opens kscreen settings module where I can manually choose which display to
turn off and which to turn on
