Still the same, even though gwenview and kipi-plugins got various updates.
The versions now are:
gwenview -> 16.04.3-1
kipi-plugins -> 5.1.0-1

BTW, can't connect in Konqueror using ftp protocol neither, whereas sftp works
fine. Seems to be an issue with ftp protocol.

Well it was fixed in Chakra Linux with version 15.12.3-2 and I got back the
plugin menu and RAW file support. But somehow meta data support is missing from
the plugin menu. I neither can show and edit meta data

Okay, this is definitely a packaging problem. Just compiled gwenview from the
sources provided here:

And it works like a charm.
