So, I tried it out again with Dolphin Emulator.
The system seems to freeze the moment the cursor is hidden when Dophin is
focused. If I set my cursor on the Discord stream on my second monitor, then

Mesa version 23.3.3 fixed the issue for me. I have been going without the
workaround since updating and I still see no freeze in plasmashell.

I can confirm that the workaround of disabling mesa_glthread globally or on
plasmashell only seems to be working. I have applied this workaround for the
