Some monitors just have completely broken EDIDs (edid-decode screams in horror,
many errors, completely out of spec). Mine is a 170Hz monitor with a 170Hz
timing entry, but max vertical range in the EDID is 165 Hz (and

I am using Wayland, mouse is set to 6400 DPI / 500 Hz polling rate (in another
ticket related to the feature this seems to play a role) and identical 1440p

It seems that plasma6 has indeed resolved this for me (or a switch from xorg to
wayland, but I doubt it). Prev & next & play/pause keys seem to work perfectly
all the time for me.
