I have the same issue and can confirm that it only happens in wayland and also
only for autostart applications.
If i close these apps and reopen them, the click hit rect seems to be in the
right spot

It does not seem to be dependent on the file format / generator.
I have tested with pdf, txt and epub, and tiff - all have laggy scrolling.

I can reproduce this issue on my lenovo thinkpad x1 carbon gen9.
I do have a 4k screen and scrolling pages within this document is almost
unusably slow.

It seemed harder to get it to crash when plasmashell was outputting debug
information on the terminal but i got it to crash :)
