The issue does seem to be fixed in the latest Tumbleweed update - 20250606 and
gstreamer 1.26.2-1.1. It has been working just fine for me today.

I think that is the album artwork embedded in the files. It must be reading it
as some other stream and it doesn't know what to do or can't ignore it
properly.

Right now I would say the single point of failure is on Google. KDE (Daniel and

The work-around (setting the auth method to plain) will only work if you also
turn on the "less secure app" use in Google settings. Otherwise it will not
