It still happens on KDE 6.3 on wayland.
The workaround I mentioned for KDE 5.x won't work for a wayland session.

ok, I figured out how to reproduce it:
1. Close plasmashell with `kquitapp6 plasmashell`
2. Run plasmashell again
Both Firefox and Whatsapp will be grouped together as Firefox in the Icons-only
task manager

I just was told on the Plasma Matrix channel, there's a TAG that can be used in
the udev rule so only Plasma will ignore a pointer device:

monitor, and I get an event from "Virtual core XTEST pointer" only when KScreen
