Yeah, I tried Neon user edition from https://neon.kde.org/download, it's Plasma
5.27.7 based on Qt 5.15.10, Plasma Wayland, a VMWare vm in my same mbp, the

Small comment here. It looks like the problem is in fact if the secondary
monitor has a bottom panel. Changing its height also changes the gap between

Yes, it always defaults to 4,800 DPI.
Reselected scanner device, set parameters and scanned a document.
Closed the software and logged out/in and same thing, scan resolution
set at 4,800 at start.
