I think you are missing a point which is most important, i.e., what type of
support Cyrus vs Dovecot offers. In my experience:
Cyrus = 0
Dovecot= 100
My personal experience.

I've done some others tests with sivtest and it's possible to connect
with PLAIN.

So thank you all and specially John Widera for your help,
Just a simple replace of the new seen file by an old one allowed me to
restore the seen flag on thousand mails.
