Hi all,
I am running cyrus imap 2.0.7 on a server with sasl 1.5 and berkeley db 3.x
and we need to migrate to cyrus 2.0.19 with berkeley db 4.x and sasl 2
is there a method to migrate all mailboxes and old mailbox db to new format
without losing any information ?

I see there is the patch #3244 that could be useful to restore
recursively subfolders. Unfortunately, it has not included in 2.4
version of Cyrus-imapd, as I can see.

we tested against our cyrus-imapd-3.0.5 invironment and now we can view
and subscribe/unsubscribe the (other) users subfolders correctly :) .
We don't know if this patch has drawback or not.

Some broken clients, such as Open-Xchange, in some obscure circumstances
enjoy to recreate and delete the same mail in the Drafts folder forever
and ever, until the partition fills up.

server. If we use delayed expunge on the IMAP server and backupd some
confusion can occurs.
I'm confused about "-x". If a message is expunged in the IMAP server,
then isn't it flagged as expunged in the Backups server too?
I checked the back
recover all in another empty IMAP server, without
"-x" at all, and the user can look at the mailbox recovered there...

Alternatively, you can try to configure your Cyrus IMAP 3.2 with
annotation_enable_legacy_commands: 1
but I never verified this chance. Upgrade the client to use METADATA
could be the better and definitive choice.

these logs told me the mailbox name too. On Cyrus
3.x this info disappears. Ouch :(
If you delete the mailbox the syslog shows the mailbox name and the
uniqueid together, only dupelim lacks of this info.

Anyway, the problem could be:
- wrong Berkeley DB (vendor package) version;
- Berkeley DB installed in some non standard location (like /usr/BerkeleyDB);
- missing -devel packages (in Red Hat, for example), as you stated.
