cyrus and related programs are some of the hardest programs to
troubleshoot I ever encountered. I read the docs, asked on the mailing
list (this one) etc. but it seems like there's simply no way to tell
what's going on. I enabled all the logging, I even tried test (from

Dear Sirs,
Problem:
It should be possible for a Netscape user to have one of three possible
usernames configured in his mail server
preferences.
Example:
Cyrus' account name: p00032351
Personal Identifier: LEE
Original name: Joe Public
Joe Public's Netscape would be able to use "p00032351" or "LE

Yes, but what DELIVERY mechanism between sendmail and cyrus?? There are
more than one you see. Your answer didn't tell us anything.
Please tell us:
- sendmail version
- authentication system (sasl, passwd, ldap)
- the relevant parts of the sendmail.mc file.
If not, it

I am sorry, but this was a fault of mine. I erronously pressed the "submit"
button of my mailer. The "real" message I have sent a few minutes after the
wrong one. I hope, it will be delivered correctly.
The text of the right mail was as follows:
o.k, its IMAP 1.6.24
hi,
sorry for my problems with sending a simple mail..
First of all I errouneously sent a wrong message, just containing nonsens.
Then I sent the right message, but it does not seem to be delivered correctly.
Therefore, a 3rd trial to answer the thread of [EMAIL PROTECTED]

We're getting geared up to move from a *very* old Cyrus IMAP server
running on a sparc/solaris to a Dual x86 with FreeBSD ... currently, we
have 2.0.16 installed from ports, and about 9 users on the system, so load
is minimal ...
We do have our postmaster mailbox on that system, which gets the m
i'm just building my own cyrus-imap rpm-package
and noticed, that there's no tool 'arbitron'.
the manpage still exists, but the tool will
not be compiled by imap/Makefile.
it seems to be excluded from the build.
for testing i added 'arbitron' to the makefile.
the build was fine.

Marc,
I ran into the sme thing after bringing our Solaris 8 system running
2.0.16 online. It cropped up after we starting seeing a lot of incoming
email. We went through a rough week of watching & restarting master
until Larry Greenfield came up with a work-around. We made a change to

I am using Debian Woody with Exim.
I followed the cyrus-howto and I did read the install documentation
in the /usr/docs/cyrus-common/, but I get errors when I leave in sasl info.
This /etc/imapd.conf without sasl seems to work:

configdirectory: /var/lib/cyrus

cvs release 1.36 of Admin.pm corresponds to both 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 kind of
(I oopsed here, I made the release file 1.6.1 before I committed the
changes so 1.6.1 is really 1.37, but the cvsid says 1.36) and no changes
were made
