If the magic number in the file header isn't right, you get this. Have you
moved sieve service between machines of different byte orders? That was a
problem some time ago (I think).
You might be able to use sievec to save yourself here.

I'm having some trouble getting sieve to work. I've just installed my
new machine, cyrus is working flawlessly, but sieve isn't. Nothing is
filtered, and in the logs I see the following errors:
