Yes, 3.0 release supports the XCONV commands if you put "conversations: yes" in
your imapd.conf.
They're quite undocumented though, so you'll have to pretty much figure them
out yourself or read through the archives for where there have been examples
pasted in emails.

So, you mean there's no way of achieving it even with one of the very
last releases of Cyrus?. Does Cyrus support XCONV for instance?. Or in
some manner, this non-standard threading variant?.

In JMAP and the XCONV commands (which are deprecated and will be removed) the
THREAD concept is cross folder, so it absolutely includes the messages in the
sent items (or archive folders, or wherever).
Standard IMAP threading is single-folder-only.

How is this topic in recent versions of Cyrus?. Could exist some manner
in which a Thread view could include the sent items (the mail replied to
the thread) to that thread?. Or should it be done client side with
databases?.
