Problems with NNTP access

2011-03-01 Thread Lars Kellogg-Stedman
Hello all, I'm getting some odd errors from Cyrus trying to access mailboxes via NNTP, and I'm hoping you can help out. The basic symptoms are that the mailboxes should up in an NNTP LIST command, but trying to select the via GROUP results in an a "unknown error": LIST 215 List of newsgroups f

Cyrus nntpd not handling NEXT and LAST correctly?

[I initially posted this via Gmane, but it doesn't appear to have made it to the list. My apologies if y'all end up seeing two copies of this message.] Hello Cyrus nntp people, I'm writing an application in which I'd like to be able to retrieve the last messages from a newsgroup hosted on a Cyr

Is Cyrus nntpd "LAST" command per RFC?

2005-11-12 Thread Lars Kellogg-Stedman
Hey folks, I'm writing an application in which I'd like to be able to retrieve the last messages from a newsgroup hosted on a Cyrus nntp server. I figured I could use the ARTICLE command to select the last article in the group and then use the LAST command to step backwards an appropriate nu

Hey folks, Just posting this in case someone runs into the same problem that I did. Slrn 0.9.8.1 is unable to post to a Cyrus nntp server -- slrn likes to add a trailing space to commands, so it sends "POST " instead of "POST", and Cyrus nntpd rejects the command. I've sent the (attached) patch

Authenticating (with cyradm) using an alternate Kerberos instance?

2005-11-06 Thread Lars Kellogg-Stedman
I'm running Cyrus imapd in a Kerberos environment. When using cyradm, I would like to authenticate with a /admin instance, rather than giving my primary instance admin privileges or always connecting as the 'cyrus' user. I haven't had much luck so far, and I think it's because I'm not clear on ho

How do I tell cyrus-imapd to *not* strip default realm from kerberos principals?

2005-11-01 Thread Lars Kellogg-Stedman
Hello again, I'm using virtual domains on our Cyrus IMAP server, which means that the user "lars" is distinct from "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". I've just started setting up kerberos (5) in this environment, and I've discovered that the Cyrus IMAP server will strip the default realm from a connecting prin

Cyrus nntp and virtual domains

Howdy, I've been using cyrus-imapd for several months now to host a small set of virtual domains. I've spent some time recently trying to get the NNTP support working, and I'm afraid I'm stuck -- it looks like I can have either NNTP *or* virtual domains, but not both. The nntp server only sees t
