We also have seen this with Thunderbird and cyrus 2.4, never had time to
debug. Always assumed it was a client defect.

since we upgraded our installation to 2.4.18-142 (SuSE SLES) we see the
same behavior.
We are using the same settings as before. Fast deleting (2 msg per second)
of messages shows "login failed".
I haven't checked this out. Any idea how to analyses this ?
