It syslogs every message/folder create/delete in a fairly regular format. eg
things like:
auditlog: create sessionid=<...> mailbox=<...> uniqueid=<...>

About that specific user:
on the replica it was on a specific folder the sync was stopping.
When I reconstructed his mailbox on the replica I was able to
sync_client -u u...@domain.
Then the user came in sync.
